Industry stakeholders from across South Africa’s aerospace and defence sectors convened at the CSIR International Convention Centre on Friday, 29 November 2024, for the AISI Aerospace and Defence Industry Day. The event focused on strengthening industry linkages and increasing awareness of available support for companies operating in the sector.
The programme brought together representatives from industry, government and participating companies to explore how the AISI can assist businesses looking to grow and strengthen their presence in the aerospace and defence value chains.
Current AISI beneficiaries shared their experiences during a series of presentations, outlining how the initiative has supported their development and enhanced their operational capabilities. These insights provided attendees with a clearer understanding of how companies can benefit from the programme.
An interactive discussion session also formed part of the agenda, giving participants an opportunity to reflect on the challenges and emerging opportunities facing the sector. Conversations centred on improving collaboration across the industry, encouraging innovation and strengthening South Africa’s local aerospace and defence manufacturing base.
The event further served as a networking platform where participants were able to engage directly with industry peers, programme administrators and other key stakeholders.
